About Us

Atropos Skeptics Society

Skeptics. Podcasters. Writers. A whole lot of tea.

We are a small Czech skeptical society with big ambitions and very limited capacity. We started as a collective project around the Meaning of (Skeptical) Life podcast, but our activities have since expanded to include writing articles, blogging, citizen science… and the occasional grumbling about public affairs.

We don’t take ourselves too seriously. But we do take the world seriously.

Active Members

Psax (Pavel)

Chairman, founder, and skeptic to the core.
Father to one small human, a professional in TV post-production, a citizen scientist-entomologist, and a lover of night forests and ironic humor. The founder of all this. Also a member of Guerrilla Skepticism on Wikipedia and the Czech Skeptics Club Sisyfos.
(Un)paid by Big Pharma and Soros, of course.

Lichlelle (Jana)

The cynic with a budget overview.
An incorrigible perfectionist who loves darkness, structures, and details no one else has noticed. A trained IT specialist and marketing professional who drives everyone crazy while simultaneously holding our internal chaos together.

Ameely (Veronika)

Brings magical chaos to our skeptical structure.
A creative “Aquarian” soul and a writer. Not a skeptic in the classic sense, yet she stays with us—which arguably makes her our most courageous member.

Marczech (Marek)

Bio to be added.

Why “Atropos”?

Named after one of the Moirai—the Fates of Greek mythology. Atropos is the one who cuts the thread of life. For us, she wields her shears to make a crucial cut:
