Teacher Competence and the Combat Against Misinformation

There is an urgent need for improved teacher training worldwide in order to better equip educators and their students with the essential critical thinking skills. This is critical to survive in an interconnected world where viral disinformation and misinformation spreads at an ever-increasing pace. By focusing on teacher competence development, we may facilitate a situation where students are immunized against gullibility, logical fallacies and cognitive biases, and armed with not only significant and necessary fact-checking skills, but also bestowed with a skeptic, yet not cynic, frame of mind. With an evidence-based mindset our students will hopefully be ready to better deal with the very real and urgent dilemmas humanity is currently facing.

“The Swedish Experiment” – A Covid strategy unlike any other

Sweden’s approach to the covid pandemic has received scathing criticism from domestic and foreign sources alike. Was it a success or a giant failure? Did the authorities play Russian roulette with the lives of its citizens? Close to three years later we look into what the science has to say and what actually happened.

Elektroakupunktura opět na scéně

Poslední měsíc vychazejí v českých médiích senzační články o nové terapii dětské obrny, kterou praktikuje MUDr. Peter Olšák ve světově proslulé Dětské léčebně Vesna v Janských Lázních. Český rozhlas tak 1. února přišel s titulkem „Český doktor léčí ochrnutí kombinací akupunktury a elektroléčby.

Akupunkturu mohou provádět lékaři, kteří získali specializaci v některém z klinických oborů včetně oboru všeobecného lékařství a absolvovali zvláštní přípravu.
